The 9-Day Energy & Beauty Ritual Guide

Inspired by Navratri’s nine nights, this guide blends color therapy, self-care, and affirmations to align mind, body, and spirit.

My Story With the Nine Nights
I was born during Navratri, and perhaps that’s why these nine nights have always felt heightened for me — charged with a little more drama, a little more divinity. In fact, drama seemed to precede me even before I entered the world.
The doctor told my grandmother that either the mother or the baby could survive. In that fragile moment, my Nani struck a pact with the Goddess: if the baby lived, she would name her after Her. And so, Aparna.
The drama didn’t end there. The doctor warned my grandparents and mama that I might never walk properly, that my legs could be weak. Again, my family turned to Devi. They vowed that when I took my first steps, they would go to Vaishno Devi. And they did. Those first steps were more than a milestone — they were the fulfilment of faith.
My Nani always told me: be extra kind, be extra devoted to the Goddess. And in many ways, my life has followed that rhythm. I went to a women’s college. My career path led me into beauty, a world shaped by remarkable women — founders, creators, marketers, readers. And Lavenderoom was born, a space to celebrate the divinity of beauty, and the journey to a higher self through it.
Growing up, I wasn’t always fond of my name. Aparna felt too heavy, too steeped in mythology. Every Sanskrit or culture lesson had a chapter on Parvati’s devotion to Shiva, and inevitably teenage eyes would turn toward me. My best friend teased me as “Umam.” I cringed then. Now, I accept it with grace. Aparna reminds me of resilience, focus, and the feminine fire stitched into my story.
So, each Navratri, I feel a personal pull to not just celebrate, but to realign. These nine days carry immense energy. This year, I’ve distilled them into a guide — one that blends energy, ritual, beauty, and affirmation. You can choose to follow all nine days or simply the one that resonates most.
