Tradition in a Bottle. Intention in Every Drop.
From Courtroom to Care
Before she was the founder of one of India’s most mindful Ayurvedic beauty brands, Krishna Tamalia Vora was a criminal lawyer — the first woman in her Rabari community to practice law. For over 12 years, she navigated courtrooms with grit and grace, fighting for justice in a field still dominated by men.
But when life brought her to Mumbai, something shifted. Amid the chaos of urban living, her hair and skin bore the brunt — until she turned, instinctively, to something older and wiser than any quick fix: her grandmother’s black sesame oil.
That moment of return would eventually spark something much larger — the birth of Mom’s Therapy, in 2016.
Krishna Tamalia Vora, Founder Mom’s Therapy
The Power of Passed-Down Wisdom
Mom’s Therapy isn’t trend-led. It’s rooted. Every formulation — from rosemary oil to tea tree concentrate — is a quiet tribute to India’s ancestral practices, reimagined for the modern shelf. What makes the brand stand out is its honesty: handmade blends, clean formulations, and a deep respect for tradition.
Krishna’s strength lies in her refusal to dilute the original wisdom. Her hero ingredient, black sesame oil, is revered in Ayurveda for strengthening hair roots, improving scalp health, and deeply nourishing the nervous system.
She’s not here to complicate beauty — she’s here to return it to its roots.

A Brand Built by Women, for Everyone
At the heart of Mom’s Therapy is a manufacturing unit where 97% of the staff are women, many from under-resourced communities. It’s Krishna’s quiet revolution — creating dignified livelihoods through heritage.
Recognition has followed:
Finalist on Shark Tank India (Season 1, chosen from 62,000+ entries)
Winner of the Entrepreneurs Award 2018 and Inorbit Pink Power Award
Featured in Femina, SheThePeople, YourStory, and global forums including the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & US Consulate in Mumbai.
But perhaps her most powerful impact is this: she’s made people believe in homemade remedies again — in the care, time, and love they hold.
Lavenderoom Recommends: A Return to Ritual
We believe beauty is more than just what you apply — it’s how you feel in the process. These two products from Krishna’s line capture that essence perfectly:
1. Rosemary Hair Oil: Stimulates blood flow to the scalp, helps with hair growth, and uplifts the senses with its crisp, herbaceous scent.
2. Tea Tree Oil: Antiseptic and clarifying — ideal for itchy scalps, minor inflammations, and resetting balance.
Ritual Tip: Book a local champi specialist — or better still, ask someone you love. The science behind champi (Ayurvedic head massage) is fascinating: It activates marma points that correspond to energy centres in the body, increases lymphatic drainage, improves circulation, and lowers cortisol levels. It’s not just oiling — it’s nervous system nourishment.

A Note from the Editor
As someone who curates, consults, and lives beauty every day, what I admire most about Krishna is her commitment to stillness — in the way she formulates, builds, and trusts the slow power of natural rituals. In a fast-moving category, she reminds us that longevity is built on patience and purpose.
