The Soft Power of Shveta Salve, and Her Beauty and Wellness Routines for Radiance

Fresh off her return to screen with The Royals on Netflix, Shveta Salve didn’t celebrate with flashbulbs or afterparties. Instead, she chose Bali—a quiet surrender to slow mornings, barefoot walks, and beauty rituals that feel more like prayer than performance. That’s where this story found its first spark.

But for me, it began weeks earlier in Lucknow, at a fragrance-led event we were both part of. Amidst the buzz and conversations, she stood out—not just for her presence, but for her sensitivity to scent. The way she spoke of notes—layered, lingering, emotional—left a lasting impression. It was clear she didn’t just wear perfume; she understood it. And she felt it.

That moment stayed with me because Shveta has always been magnetic—whether as the cool girl from Hip Hip Hurray and Left Right Left or the unapologetic force on reality TV and beyond. But today, her glow feels different. It’s more grounded, more intuitive, and quietly potent.

In this special Lavenderoom conversation, we catch her mid-retreat and mid-reflection—unpacking her go-to skincare rituals, fragrance philosophies, and the beauty-wellness crossover that defines her now.

For those seeking celebrity beauty secrets with soul, or selfcare routines that feel lived-in and real, Shveta’s story is one to linger on.

What’s the first thing you do each morning? Are there any grounding rituals or wellness practices that are non-negotiable?

I sit still. Not in a meditative way that’s trying to be anything, just still. It could be with coffee, or just looking out at trees. No phone, no conversation, just space to arrive on the day. That’s my ritual.

What does wellness look like for you now, beyond green juice and yoga mats?

It looks like boundaries. Like saying no without guilt, eating when I’m hungry, moving when my body wants to and with intention, and resting without the pressure to be ‘productive.’ It’s messy, intuitive, and real.

Do you follow the seasons or your intuition regarding skincare and rituals? What’s your skin telling you these days?

Always intuition. But I’m blessed with good genes. My skin speaks before I do—if I’m stressed, she shows it. If I’m calm, she glows. Lately, she’s asking for more hydration and less fuss. And maybe a little forgiveness.

A fragrance that brings you instant calm, or one that reminds you of your most magnetic self?

The one that brings calm smells like earth after rain—clean, grounding, familiar.  Besides any Palo Santo mists, Maison Margiela Replica, When the Rain Stops Jo Malone’s Peony Blush are my favourites. Naso is one of my favourite homegrown brands, and I love working with homegrown labels—whether it’s fashion, hair, skin, etc. I particularly like the Gardenia Marigold and Mint infused in Rose & Lemon from Naso.”

Tell us about your scent wardrobe—do you layer, rotate with moods, or stick to one signature?

beauty tips

I rotate with moods. Scent is emotion for me—some days, I want to smell like sunshine and sea salt, others like a secret forest. There are no rules, just feelings.

What are your go-to beauty habits that have stood the test of time?

I don’t have much tbh (to be honest). Like I said, my genes are great, so a good serum for the day, I now like a ritual, nighttime eye serum, and when the skin feels like it needs a quench, then a nighttime oil or cream.
Aminu’s Copper peptide and eye serum are amazing, and I’m so happy that they’re homegrown. I also love the natural products by Muka Concepts Bali. And my go-to face wash is the Himalaya Neem

Also: less is more. Confidence is the best highlighter, truly.

One makeup product you’ll always pack (even if you’re packing light)?

A tint that works on lips, lids, and cheeks. And a brow product. Because expressive eyebrows = instant face lift.

Any Ayurvedic, traditional, or homegrown beauty rituals you swear by?

Warm oil head massages. There’s nothing that resets me more. Also, coffee grinds with sugar and lime are the best body scrub ever.

How do you reset when you feel overwhelmed—any scent, sound, or movement that shifts your energy?

Movement, always. My happy place is the gym, or I can even roll on the floor, stretch, or dance like a maniac to an old Bollywood song. Scent-wise, I love grounding and woody like Palo Santo, it slows my breath down.

What’s one beauty belief you’ve redefined for yourself in your 40s—and what advice would you give your younger self about self-image?

Beauty is not about being flawless; it’s about being free. I’d tell my younger self, “Stop performing. You’re not a project. You’re already the person you’re becoming.”
